Mayor John Smith and the Beattyville City Council debuted this design for a Town Square Monday night at the monthly City Council meeting. This is their vision for the property the City recently purchased on Main Street.
The Beattyville Town Square will include a permanent shelter, stage, farmers market area, a showcase area for local crafters and artisans, seating, a beautiful mural and landscaping. It will be a place that fills our Main Street with the essence of community pride, a place for our community to gather, an attraction for tourists to come learn and see the talents of local musicians, artisans and crafters, a place for everyone to come together and enjoy being in downtown Beattyville.
The City plans to actively seek grant funding to help make this vision become a reality for our community and its citizens.
