PUBLIC NOTICE
Request for Qualifications for Consulting Engineers Services
The City of Beattyville, Beattyville, KY is soliciting qualifications from consulting
engineers and architectural firms for professional engineering and architectural services on the
Beattyville Connect Project.
The City is pursuing projects that may result in the construction of a trail head along the
Beattyville Coal Seam that will serve as a starting point for hiking and mountain biking and will
develop a Town Square along with walking paths and historical markers. Presently the City has
been awarded funding through the Abandoned Mine Land Pilot Program for this project.
The City is seeking the technical assistance of a qualified engineering consulting/
architecture services firm to assist them in the development, planning, design, and construction
observation of this project.
Minimum requirements include previous experience in engineering/architectural services
on similar projects.

Respondents should submit a minimum of seven (7) copies of their statement in a
sealed envelope clearly marked “City of Beattyville – Engineering/Architectural Services –
Beattyville Connect Project” no later than 4:00 P.M. on Monday, March 16, 2020. Submittals
should be made to Jennifer McIntosh, Water & Wastewater Planner, 941 North Main Street,
Hazard, KY 41701. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
Attention is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be
observed under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109, Title VI, Section 504
and EO 11246. Local, minority, and female owned firms are particularly encouraged to
