Beattyville, KY (November 12, 2012) – The local Republican Women’s Club held a luncheon to honor the Lee County veterans. It was a rainy Monday afternoon but that didn’t stop around 40 people from attending this event, which was held at the Three Forks Historical Museum. The museum was beautifully decorated in red, white, and blue. The most notable decorations were the homemade cards on the tables created by the children of Lee County. Everett Marshall held the US Flag while Chuck Caudill led the group into the pledge of allegiance. President of the Republican Club, Cindy Brandenburg spoke a few words of welcome and thanks to the veterans who have served from our community. Then the host’s served homemade vegetable soup, chicken salad sandwiches, chips, drinks, and an assortment of desserts. It was a wonderful lunch and even better atmosphere as the veterans browsed though the museum’s extensive collection of military artifacts and pictures.
