Every year, children line Main Street in Beattyville, KY for their fill of haunts and treats. This is a totally free event for the community so bring out the kids dressed in their Halloween best for an evening of activities for the whole family. This year’s costume contest will begin at 6:30pm. The Downtown Beattyville Alliance will sponsor a pumpkin carving contest beginning at 6:00pm so bring your carved pumpkin to win a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Don’t forget to ride the Haunted Trolley along with storytelling, sponsored by the Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Commission. All donations from the trolley ride will go toward the Beattyville City Park Construction Project Grant. The Lee County Food Bank is sponsoring a Haunted House in the Masonic Lodge Building (upstairs over the newspaper office). The Haunted House will also be opened during the Woolly Worm Festival. Donations are still needed for rick or Treat on Main. Money or candy is needed.
