All area residents are invited to be life-savers at the upcoming Kentucky Blood Center blood drive. The drive sill be Tuesday, October 9th from 10:00am till 2:30pm at City Hall in Beattyville. To schedule a donation or for more details visit kybloodcenter.org or call (800) 775-2522. Blood donors must have photo I.D, be 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and meet additional requirements.
About the Kentucky Blood Center: The KBC is the largest FDA regulated blood bank in KY. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring a safe, adequate blood supply for patients at nearly 70 KY hospitals and clinics in more than 60 countries. KBC relies of volunteers to donate 400 pints of blood per day to meet area patient’s needs. Over the last year, KBC distributed nearly 130,000 blood components.
